Share your experiences of Adult Social Care

Written by Hayley

Adult Social Care have been asked by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) to take part in some conversations about people’s experiences of Adult Social Care. Here we share the information to enable blind and partially sighted people to participate.

ADASS are working with Lyndsey from an organisation called Coco-Operative who will be the person you (if you choose to take part) would speak to. If you can spare some time, please drop Lyndsey an email or message and you’ll get a small voucher as a thank you.

Here’s the email from Lyndsey...

Hi, my name is Lyndsey and I work for an organisation called Coco- Operative Cic. I would like to have a conversation and listen to people who live in Yorkshire and Humber about their experiences of social care and support AND if they had a magic wand to think about what it could look like in the future.

The conversations we have will go into a report and that will go to an organisation called ADASS Yorkshire and Humber, they work with all the 15 local authorities in the region.

You can decide if you want your name in the report or not and choose to be anonymous.

The report is to help ADASSY&M understand what is amazing and what else could or needs to happen and how do we work together to get there.

These conversations are the first step of understanding, showcasing what is amazing and what the dream could be. ADASS would like to hold a face to face event in 2025 to carry on the conversations with people who need social care, local authorities and the community.

The conversations are with me! They will last about an hour, less or more if you need them to be. They can be online, a call, a text, WhatsApp, or email. I will try and use whatever tech you are comfortable with and when is best for you not me, this means evening or weekend if that works best.

If you need support, a friend, family member, carer or anything else we can include what you need.

We also value your knowledge and experience and so there will be a small voucher/money to acknowledge your time.

My deadline is the 15th January 2025 but I would love to listen as soon as you can and is possible for you!

Please contact me directly if you can or ask the person who you wish to support you to contact me at:
